Din-Ping TSAI

Professor Din-Ping Tsai currently serves as Chair Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at City University of Hong Kong. An internationally recognized scholar, he holds elected fellowship status in twelve distinguished professional societies including AAAS, APS, COS, EMA, HKAE, IEEE, JSAP, NAI, OSA, SPIE, PST, and AAIA, along with membership in the International Academy of Engineering (IAE) and academician distinction at the Asia-Pacific Academy of Materials (APAM). His extensive research portfolio encompasses 405 SCI-indexed publications, 70 book chapters and refereed conference papers, complemented by 39 technical reports. With 69 patents granted across 45 distinct innovations, he has delivered over 340 invited presentations at global forums, including 28 plenary addresses and 66 keynote lectures. His scholarly excellence has been recognized through more than 40 prestigious honors, notably the 2024 Frontiers of Science Award, SPIE's Mozi Award (2018), consecutive inclusions in Clarivate Analytics' Global Highly Cited Researchers (2019, 2020), and dual recognitions in China's Top 10 Optical Breakthroughs (2018, 2020). Professor Tsai further contributes to scientific discourse through editorial leadership, serving on the boards of 12 leading journals including as Associate Editor of Science Advances and Founding Editor of Photonics Insights, while concurrently editing Light: Advanced Manufacturing.
